“I-Idiot! You don’t have to tell him that.” Ichigo interrupts, looking embarrassed and a bit annoyed. “Mean something to me…” Shin repeats while thinking hard about it. I once buried a time capsule with Ichigo, and he put in a picture of a cake he would make me for my birthday. “But the things you put in have to mean something to you.” I add with a smile. “I see!” Shin nods as if he finally understands everything. “Then you dig it up again after a few years.” “You put stuff in it and then you bury it.” Ichigo says before I have the time to answer. “Yeah! They were talking about it in kindergarten.” I wonder why he brought this up all of a sudden. “What is it?” Ichigo asks with a soft look in his eyes. We continue to eat breakfast when Shin suddenly looks up at me and Ichigo with an expression that tells me he has a question. “I don’t hate it.” He answers casually and I find it cute how he tries to sound all cool about it. “You sure like apple juice.” Ichigo says when Shin gulps down the juice. “Yeah, thanks mommy.” He holds out his glass to me with a smile on his face and I pour him some juice. We sit down at the table to eat breakfast together as a family. “Okay you two! Let’s eat.” I say with a giggle. And I can’t help but to smile a little at the thought. Lately I feel like I fully understand the expression: Like father, like son.

“Heh, when did you get so cheeky?” Ichigo asks and pokes at Shin’s cheek. “You can be heavy!” Shin blurts out, while puffing his cheeks out in a playful manner. Anyway, you’re heavy.” Ichigo says with a teasing, yet soft smile as he puts our son down again. “Ahaha! Good morning, daddy!” He laughs as Ichigo lifts him even higher in the air. “Yeah, but aren’t you supposed to say good morning first?” “To eat breakfast!” Shin answers with a laugh. “Whoa! Where are you going in such a hurry?” He says and casually stops his son by lifting him up in the air. “Okaaay.” He puts down his toys and before I know it he starts to dash towards the kitchen, only to bump into Ichigo on his way there. He is busy, playing with some toys when he looks up at me. “G ood morning, Shin.” I poke my head into my 6 year old son’s room. “Shut up.” He playfully pinch my cheek and we joke around a bit more before we leave the bedroom to eat breakfast. “Hehe, but you’ll love me anyway.” I say as a joke, and he looks embarrassed. “You really are going to get fat one of these days.” He says with his usual smirk on his face. “I guess I can’t really argue with that.” I mumble in defeat when my stomach makes another weird sound. “Pfft! It’s always about food with you, huh.” He laughs and softly plants a kiss on my cheek. “…” I feel my cheeks turning pink as I avert my eyes from him. But all of a sudden, my stomach makes an embarrassing noise, informing both me and Ichigo that I’m hungry. “I was not!” I start to protest when he suddenly presses his lips against mine, making my heart skip a beat. I thought you’d never wake up.” He says with a chuckle.

These small, everyday moments makes me incredibly happy and my heart gets warmer just by waking up beside him every morning. “…Good morning.” I give him a bright smile and he pulls me closer to him. I slowly open my eyes and the first thing I see is Ichigo’s gentle smile. I wake up to the pleasant feeling of someone stroking my hair. I did my best and I hope some of you will like it anyway! I’m still having some problems with my writing, so I’m sorry if this one didn’t turn out very good. Hi everyone!
